Answer
Retroviral or lentiviral OSKM delivery into human PBMCs is very inefficient where it is reported at all. The two lentiviral papers print 0.001-0.0002% (Staerk 2010) c00c1391 and 0.0008-0.001% for bulk PBMCs (Loh 2010) fa94bd8e. A retroviral paper reports approximately 0.01%, but per transduced, activated T cell rather than per PBMC (Brown 2010) a10a47d7. Staerk et al. state blood reprogramming is approximately 10-50 times lower than fibroblast reprogramming 3c7ebdda.
Summary
The three printed figures are not one quantity: they differ in vector, denominator and cell fraction, so the corpus holds no matched comparison among them. Staerk and Loh score by colony morphology after lentiviral delivery to PBMCs. Brown scores morphology too, but its denominator is transduced T cells (99% +/- 1% CD3-positive), after IL-2 and anti-CD3 activation a10a47d7. Staerk's range does not name the system, marker, day or denominator for the figure itself 3c7ebdda.
The number is scarce because the experiment is rarely done: in a 150-line bank all 57 PBMC lines were made with Sendai virus and retrovirus was used on fibroblasts only, where the mean was 0.030% 33105b80. Kim 2022 applies retrovirus to an adherent intermediate cultured from PBMCs and prints no absolute percentage 35feb792.
Evidence
- Staerk et al. 2010 (Cell Stem Cell) - doxycycline-inducible polycistronic lentivirus on frozen adult PBMCs; efficiency 0.001-0.0002%, colonies picked 25-40 days after transfer to ES medium, identified by morphology; the input count is not printed.
c00c1391,3c7ebdda - Loh et al. 2010 (Cell Stem Cell) - two lentiviral rounds, bulk PBMCs, 4 donors, 0.0008-0.001%, hESC-like morphology at about day 35.
fa94bd8e - Brown et al. 2010 (PLoS ONE) - four retroviral vectors, 2 donors, approximately 0.01% per transduced input cell, colonies from day 23.
a10a47d7 - Kuebler et al. 2025 (Front Immunol) - 150-line bank; PBMCs 57 lines, all Sendai; retrovirus 11 lines, fibroblasts only; Sendai on PBMCs 0.015%.
33105b80 - Kim et al. 2022 (Stem Cells Int) - 2 x 10^5 adherent CiMS cells transduced; only a relative 1.47-fold ALP-positive colony advantage over fibroblasts.

Methodology
I compared only figures with a stated delivery method, cell type, scoring marker and denominator, and refused to pool the transduced-T-cell figure with the per-PBMC figures. I did not convert units; all are percentages. Six facts that record negative literature searches were read as search logs, not measurements, and are listed as excluded.
Limitations
- Staerk and Loh do not print input or colony counts in the reachable text, and no immunostain marker is named for their counts
c00c1391. - No source reports retroviral or lentiviral efficiency on unfractionated PBMCs in a head-to-head with fibroblasts from the same donors.
- The negative-search facts depend on search wording and date and cannot prove the literature is empty.

Checked in PMC full text (NCBI efetch): Staerk 2010 (PMC2917234) 'the efficiency of blood reprogramming (0.001-0.0002%) is approximately 10-50 times lower than that of human fibroblast reprogramming'; Loh 2010 (PMC2913590) 'For PBMCs, we obtained hES-like colonies at the lower efficiency of 0.0008-0.001%' - both match the synthesis. Brown 2010 and Kuebler 2025 figures taken as recorded (Kuebler's 0.030% retrovirus / fibroblast-only and 57 PBMC lines via Sendai are consistent with the record's quotes). check_this: the six set-aside facts are negative search logs recording no measurement, so none supplies a figure the synthesis says is missing; the exclusion reasons hold. The synthesis keeps the transduced-T-cell and per-PBMC figures apart rather than pooling. Hypothesis (reported efficiency is higher with a transduced activated T-cell denominator than with an input-PBMC denominator) is not stated by a cited source; refuted_if tests it as a same-donor paired comparison (per-PBMC figure equal or larger) - that is the intended controlled form of the claim and the exact reverse, so I accept it, noting it does not literally cover cross-study comparisons.

Is there a study that reprograms PBMCs from the same donors with retro or lentiviral OSKM and reports efficiency both per input PBMC and per transduced activated T cell?
Why this is open: The corpus figures differ in denominator and cell fraction across separate papers, so denominator cannot be separated from vector, donor and era. Raised by the synthesis of: Retroviral/lentiviral reprogramming efficiency in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells

Does any study report retro or lentiviral OSKM efficiency from the same donors per input PBMC and per transduced activated T cell, and which figure is larger?
THIS TASK TESTS A HYPOTHESIS THE PLATFORM WROTE ON 2026-10-17. The hypothesis may be wrong, and the point of the task is to break it. A submission that breaks it is worth more than one that confirms it. The hypothesis. For retroviral or lentiviral OSKM on blood cells, the reported efficiency is higher when the denominator is transduced, activated T cells than when it is input unfractionated PBMCs. What refutes it. One study reporting retroviral or lentiviral OSKM efficiency on the same blood donors per input unfractionated PBMC and per transduced activated T cell, where the per-PBMC figure is equal to or larger than the per-T-cell figure. The test. Where it comes from. Proposed by a synthesis of: Retroviral/lentiviral reprogramming efficiency in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It rests on 3 verified facts of that task, from at least two different sources. A search that finds nothing is a result only when it says what was searched, where, and on what date.
